A little bit of this and that.

Well, I didn't boo hoo when I dropped off my sister at the airport. I admit that I was a little teary and my throat was tight but I handled it. I think my sister brought down some kind of Alaska
crud. I woke up this morning and I had gummy eyes, green crusty gunk in my nose and a sore throat! ( That might have been a T.M.I. moment! Sorry! ) but because I love my sister dearly, I made biscuits this morning to go with my home made strawberry jam. Nothing like a hot biscuit dripping with butter and jam! When I got up this morning to let the dog out, it was only 10 above and when I got home it's 32 above and snowing. The drive to the twin cities was OK, nothing happened, but on the way back I got a little nervous! Something I have noticed down here in the lower 48 states. THEY TAILGATE! I aways try to keep 3 or more car lengths between me and the guy in front of me. Here, when I do that, somebody almost always pulls in that spot, no big deal, I just back off. On the way back there was this guy right on my bumper, and yes, I was going the speed limit! I think he scared himself when I fish tailed! as he backed off a lot and slowed down! I also slowed down! Here in Wisconsin you often go over a bridge or a cattle crossing is under the road or you go over a County Road. With the rain/sleet/snow that was going on and the cold temp there was some ice on them, that's why I fish tailed. And then a big rig passed me and he did a little fish tail! Nothing like seeing a tractor trailer rig start to slide into your lane! With this cold that I'm getting I was feeling a little draggy, that perked me right up! Now I'm home and having a cup of hot peppermint tea and I feel a nap coming on. I must obey the call of the nap! Speaking of tea, I'm getting cranky! A friend at work let me try her "Candy Cane Land" tea. Its a Celestial Seasonings Holiday tea. She got it at Wal-Mart last week. I have now been to 3 Wal-Marts ( 1 today in Hudson WI ) and a Target and 2 other local stores and I can't find it! I just know that that tea would solve all my cold systems! I used to feel that all herbal teas tasted like grass clippings steeped in hot water but that tea was real good. That's why I have this peppermint tea, I thought that it was the same. It's not. But I think tea would be better then hot coco, which would cause a dairy snot problem. Can you tell that I need a nap?

  1. Glad you made it home safely!

The tailgating is out of control, sometimes. The first snowfall also tends to freak people out and the worst driving habits seem to really show their stuff. My drive took over 30 minutes this afternoon because people were driving so oddly.

For your tea, Celestial Seasonings Tea has a lookup to see where to buy.

  2. I thought about you today Kris, wondering if you made it back from the airport ok. Whenever we have our first snowfall, people drive unbelievable stupid...no one wants to slow down! There are always lots of accidents until the snow settles in and people realize the snow is here to stay. I get made at Wisconsinites & Minnesotians!!!!!

I hope you aren't getting the crud...our daughter is also sick right now with the "crud."

  3. I made it home too! It's snowing here also. We've got about three inches and still coming down, although lightly. Roads are slick also. I could hear sirens as we got out of car at the house. I bet tomorrow will be bad.
