This is Abby. This is Abby trying really really hard not to look at me! If she can pretend I'm not there then that means she also didn't hear me telling her to come inside! You can't tell in this picture but she is shivering really hard. It's only about 17 above and just a little breezy. She loves to go with me in the truck and being that today is my off day, my morning routine was different so that clued her in to that maybe, just maybe
there's a car ride.
This is Abby being a bad dog! She tries to be good but the war within her tells her that if she stays outside then she wont be made to stay home. I used my firm voice and told her to "come" and she moved to the edge of the porch. But she didn't get off the porch as she was very cold!
I said "come" again and she came inside and got the "Good dog!, you're a good girl Abby" As I was putting my socks on I told her "OK" that is a magic word and she was all happy happy joy joy as then, she knew that she was going for a ride!
Just to make her more happy I went slow by the field of cows so she could bark at them (Windows were closed). If I believed in reincarnation I would want to come back as my dog!
You'd only want to come back as Abby if you were her owner, because, I hate to tell you this, not everyone would be as patient or kind as you are to her. If you came back as Abby and Tim was her owner you would have gotten in big trouble for not obeying the first time and you would NOT have gotten to go for a car ride and you would have gotten in BIG trouble for barking in the car, which you didn't get to go in.
ReplyDeleteAbby is so good at ignoring. I noticed that right away when she'd come to work with you and stay in your car. When I'd go up to the car window and talk to her, she would purposely look in the other direction because she knows I'm not her momma, so why waste her time on looking at me. I didn't take it personally....I still like Abby girl.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Abby at the edge of your deck is priceless.
