Yummy

This, my friends, is a picture of yummy-ness. A week ago my boss went to a Library conference and she brought back some pears from her sister's house. (I think) She shared them with us. I looked in my many cook books to see what to make. I didn't have a lot of pears so I decided to make a pear chutney. The recipe called for 8 cups diced pears. I only had 2 cups so I had to be a little creative. Math has never been my strong point! It turned out good. I ended with only one 1/2 pint jar and a little left over. I had some of the left over stuff for dinner. I mixed it with cream cheese and had it on some crackers. I can hardly wait till I have it on a turkey sandwich with Havarti cheese, tomatoes, leaf lettuce, a light layer of mayo on some good chewy bread. My Dad would hate this! So I wont make him eat it. I don't think that he likes any cooked fruit unless it's a pie. His loss.

  1. Wow Kris, way to go! Those pears came from my sister-in-law's pear tree in Milwaukee. I'm glad you could make something with them.

  2. That looks gooooooood. I'm having a desert craving right now...a spoonful of chutney would do!

  3. I guess it looks ok. I'm not really a big pear fan, but that does look pretty good. Is it like hot apple pie mixture, but pear instead?

No not like Apple pie! It has onions in it, red pepper, celery seeds and some other spices. It's sweet and savory at the same time.
    Its a chutney
