Road trip with Mom and Dad.

Today we went to Cady's cheese store. It's about 45 min drive from my place. Dad was doing much better on his sense of direction. Today North was North and South was South! Until we went to Colfax. He thinks that the town needs to be shifted to match what he thinks is the right way. (My Dad is KING of his world!) but I digress, back to the the cheese store. They will give you a sample of any cheese that they have. So I tried a "cousin" to Limburger cheese. It might as well have been it's twin! YUCK! I had to spit it out and get another sample of a different cheese to get rid of that nasty taste! I can still bring up the flavor in my mind. (shudder) After that we went into Menominee to have lunch. I talked Dad into going to Culver's ( Yum, Butter Burger!) and not McDonald's. Culver's is a fast food place, but they don't taste like fast food. But we still needed to go to McDonald's as Dad had to get some coffee. He gave up coffee a few months ago. He still needs coffee in the morning but he's not a coffee drinker. He ordered 2 large coffees so that he could drink one now and put the other in his thermos for tomorrow morning. But remember, he's not a coffee drinker! I was hoping that Mom and Dad would stay till Thursday but there are some storms moving in and Dad wants to go before they hit. Also it's gotten real cold here and they are used to that high 70's and 80's down in AZ now. So they will go tomorrow morning. Bummer. I will miss them.
My Dad saw this picture of himself, he remarked that "Boy, I have a big head!" I told him, "yep you have a Charlie Brown head! Didn't you know that?" All my sisters know that my Dad has a big head! Some of us even inherited it, and his short legs! ( Curses!)

  1. Dads head is just right...but maybe in that picture it looks a bit biggish cause mom has a smaller head so its more noticable. Besides, dad is really smart so he needed a bigger container to hold all his smartness. hmmmm...I can almost see his head getting even bigger with that compliment!

  2. I take after Dad - I have that Candy Apple on a stick head too. I think we used to call it a block head and I was a chip off the ol' block. I'm sorry they are leaving so soon. It's fun to have company.
