A good day at work.

Have I told you lately that I love my library job? Well, I do.
Today was a good day, though I have to admit that there has not been a bad day yet at the library. What made it a good day was that I dusted. I know, you're thinking dusting? I like to dust at work. Not at home though! I have lived here almost a year and I have not dusted yet and I need to. If you live with low light in the house then you don't see it (That's my house keeping skills!) but back to work dusting. To dust I take out all the books of the shelves and dust that shelf and then put the books back. The reason that I like it is that I get to touch all the books. And by touching I mean that if the cover looks good I open it up and read the front flap. ( I know, I know, you should never judge a book by its cover!) I have found some good books that way.

Tonight I found the following books. The book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton . This book is about a young lady growing up in a small town working at the "Trim 'N Tidy Dry Cleaners. The 2nd book is The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer, My life at Red Rose Edited by Joyce Reardon. It's the diary of Ellen who lived in Seattle back in 1900's who married into money. And the 3rd book is
False Accusations by Alan Jacobson. Now that I have this 3rd book at home I think I might have read it already. That happens sometimes when you read a lot of books. I will start it and I will know by the 2nd or 3rd chapter if I have already read it. If I can't remember how it ends I will keep on reading it.

I also put out displays of books if there is some empty space on the shelf. I display books that I have read and liked. I'm a book pusher that way!

While I was dusting the stacks I came across the book Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. This was a very good book. I highly recommend it. But I wonder this. Is this the only book that Charles Frazier will ever write? Did he only have this one book in him? I would love it if he came out with another book.

Now I smell like pledge! But it's not a bad smell.

  1. I wish I could work in a library today. I had a frustrating day at work, every 5 minutes someone was coming to me with some crisis that they needed my help with right now. Today I earned my pay. Some days I don't. I guess it all evens out.

  2. In 2006, Frazier came out with Thirteen Moons. Looks like that's it. (his wikipedia page)
