I used to be?

I am not a craft person. I have my little forays into the craft world and "do" a craft. The eggs are one of the few examples. My twin, I think is the one that 1st did the eggs and it looked fun and easy to do. If you're a craft person. I have to admit that maybe a few eggs got the old Krissy hammer when they would not cooperate and do the right thing. (That learned them!)

To do eggs you need to make a little hole on both ends and blow till you see little bright spots where ever you look. Rinse them out and let them dry. Spray paint them. (Being careful not to inhale the fumes so the good times don't start early!) Let that dry and then, this is where the fun really starts! You get to go to a fabric store or a craft store and get to go look and pick notions!

How fun in that? I had the notion that I was going to kill myself right then and there while I was in the craft store. (Why are the lines the longest at fabric and craft stores? )

Then you get to work with a hot glue gun and have molten lava like glue on your fingers and being that it's glue, it sticks to you while it burns. (Good times, good times) and then glue little ribbons and bows (oh my) to a egg. Why do we do this? Oh, that's right. It's crafty!

I made a dozen of them and I only have 6 left? I wonder what happened to the others? (Smash smash!)

  1. Those are really nice! I really like the gold and mauve one.

My sister painted blown out eggs with the kids one year. We stuck some budding sticks in a bucket of damp sand and hung the eggs on them at Easter time. I kept them for a few years but they finally all broke.

  2. Wow, those eggs are really nice. I wish you could see all my grandma's eggs. She made them really fancy. I'll take more pictures when I visit my parents.

You'll have to put your eggs out for display.

  3. I especially enjoyed this story having sat with you through some of your "creative" spells. Remember pasta angels? Or scrapbooking? Perhaps God is trying ever so hard to teach you patience.

  6. I remember the pasta Angels, Alicia gave me one that I still have.

Here is a hint; They don't break if you keep them wrapped up in the decoration box and then don't decorate for Christmas!
