My City, I mean town.

There she is, in all her gray drab beauty. I hate to say it, but even in the summer time with the trees and grass all green. It still looks gray. This is where I get gas and sometimes I will get a loaf of bread and some milk. This is also the town that has the church that I go to. It's straight ahead, on the left hand side. You can't see it. This town, way back in it's hay day was a bustling town.
It had 2 banks, a creamery, dry goods store, hardware store and a brick making plant.
Now it has 1 gas station, 3 bars, 3 churches and a post office. I have not found out why the town died. I have asked around but no one knows for sure. I will chat up the Post Master next time I'm at the P.O.

  2. I've been driving through your little town for 26 years now and it hardly ever changes...well, the gas station has changed. Now it has groceries!

  3. So, you're really saying it's just a wide spot in the road? Hope your PO person can give you the scoop on why the town kinda died.

  4. It is kind of sad to think of the small towns around us that were once big and thriving and now hang on by a thread.

  5. I know exactly where that wide spot in the road is. It is a very small town - not the kind of place where people can hang around and get to know each other. It needs a little cafe that all the locals would come to for coffee each morning. You could start one. Panda had another seizure this morning. I don't know if she had any while we slept but that's 3 in less than 24 hours.

  7. Annie, I work in a town thats a 20 min drive from my house one way. It has about 1300 people. My town has 317 people in it. No real job in my town other then at the gas station or the 3 bars.
