Books and more books

I requested lots of books a few weeks ago and lots of them have come in.

I just finished Nora Roberts The Search. It was good, not great, I think that I have read so many of her books that I am no longer surprised by what happens, they are kind of predictable. This one, the main female is a dog trainer so that was about all that was different, but even then that got on my nerves as I felt that Roberts was pushing a dog training agenda. (I hate to be preached at via a book!)

I tried to read and got very close to the end but I can't finish Flawed Dogs by Berkeley Breathed.
He's that guy that writes the comic Opus, which I love to read. This book is a Juvenile Fiction and it's just too young for me.

I'm also reading F.B.I. Girl by Maura Conlon-McIvor. This is a Non Fiction book about a young girl growing up and her dad works for the F.B.I. The tag for the book is "How I learned to crack my fathers code" So far, it's kind of slow. I will keep plugging away at it.

I have The Kite Runner to read. I have read that before but need to read it again for book club. If you have not read this book, run, don't walk and get the book. It's a great book!

My other books that came in are

On the line by S.J. Rozan. I am reading this series and can't wait to start this one. I think this is book seven? Not sure.

Never tell our business to strangers a memoir by Jennifer Mascia. This one is also a non fiction book. It's about growing up in a criminal family and the lies that are told too keep them all safe. (I think)

The Passage by Justin Cronon. The inside flap sounded really good, you know, the whole collapse of the world due to some really bad thing. The tag on this one read "It happened fast. Thirty two minutes for one world to die and another to be born"

Then I have Acid Row by Minette Walters. I have no idea about this book. A patron recommended it. The author is a Brit so it will be different.

  1. Hey Aunt Krissy, I just love books. The Reversal by Michael Connelly just came out the other day which Adrian will get me late today. Then The Confession by John Grisham comes out on the 26th. These are my 2 favorite authors. Love you!

  2. Haven't heard of the rest (except Kite Runner which I've read and agree is a great book)but I've read several by Minette Walters - those are never predictable, but she does have the same tricks she uses in all of them. I think you will find it kind of simplistic.

  3. I was just about to ask about your book club. It's been a while since you talked about what you're reading.

  4. It's so nice to have good books to choose from. I reserved a bunch of books...beware. I'll probably get a bin all to myself, just for my beading books.
