A weeks ago or so T.J. and I got to talking about "If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around, does it still make a sound?" I said yes, but TJ. said no. And I have to say, he's right.
It wont make a sound. If no one is around (Be it a person, bird, mouse, or anything with an ear) then there is only vibration and vibration does not make sound. It's the ears that pick up the vibration and translates that in to sound that we can make sense of.
I know, you all out there probably already thought this one out.

And I thought I had an inquiring mind! Great pic above :)
ReplyDeleteDeep Thoughts with Krissy - sounds like a SNL bit
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I disagree with TJ. Many song birds live in the deep forest. Unfortunately, you may never hear the songs that they sing. Do they still physically sing even though you can't hear or see them? You betcha!
ReplyDeleteTT. I agree, birgs sing, and other birds that around them hear them sing. I think that there is always somthing that has ears around so that sound is always heard.
ReplyDeleteHow scientific but so true :)
ReplyDeleteTo my mind, it does) Very rhythmic and rhetorical question, though, is sounding here!
