Oh Boy!

I did it. I'm in trouble now! Today at work the library closed at its normal time of 5pm. Then we were open from 5pm to 8pm for the local high school kids. The library sponsored a "Rock Concert" We had a 360 play station set up with 2 guitars, a drum set and a mic all being played on a big movie screen. The library also had pizza and soda for them.
That where the trouble comes in. I had 2, count them 2, Pepsi's! I can feel the sugar and caffeine just racing through my system. My fingers are a little shaky. I haven't had caffeine in a few weeks and to slam 2 sodas back to back? I'm up for a long night! Good thing I have cable.

They kids played a lot of 80's music. So I was able to sing along with them.( In the back!) I kept telling them to play "The Clash, Should I stay or Should I go" Finally they played it. That was one of my favorite songs back then. ( They also played some of the new stuff. It's pretty depressing. No wonder they played a lot of 80's music! )

I also told my coworker (That has a large screen T.V.) that we needed to have a "Rock Concert" at her house for us ladies of the library. That way we can be rock stars!

  1. Oh, fun!

If you're going to be up a while, there was an episode of "This American Life" about how Michigan libraries rebranded themselves by having this rock band come and do a tour through various libraries. It was pretty neat. :) You can click on "Full Episode" to listen to it online.

  2. Your librarys sounds like it has more fun than the big ones up here. Good planning by the director I'm sure.

  3. K- I was just over there and listened to the interview with the band, That was prtty neat. I liked how the band used libraries as their office away from home. The statement that libraries had clean bathrooms with TP and locking doors cracked me up!

  4. You'll have to get your gaming termonology right - its X-Box 360 and the other system is Playstation 2. The only reason I know this is because I have two addicts at home.

I'd love to have a 'Rock Band' party at my house, we'll just have to figure out how we'll get the game part. I have the TV and the X-Box.
