Rants!

My day started off with me being just a little bit cranky from the lack of sleep. When you get older you just need your sleep and I had a 4 hour nap last night! Yes, it was some of my fault and part Abby's fault. I had a Cherry Pepsi at work yesterday and had the last of it a 4.30pm. So that made me a little twitchy while I was trying to sleep and then dumb dog would not settle down and was in and out of the bed 3 times! Each time she wanted to go outside. GRRRR!

Rant #1. I went into the big town of Menomonie to go shopping. One of things on my list was fresh basil. I can't believe that Super Wal-Mart did not have it! It is not some rare exotic herb! So I went to a store called "The Market place" It's more pricey then WAl-Mart. They did not have fresh basil! So then I went to the hippy dippy co-op health food store. They had it. Of course!

Rant #2. It bugs me when I see young white kids if full dread locks! What it up with that? Do they even know anything about being Rasta? They have no concept of being black and oppressed. They are spoiled kids pretending something! And I say kids, as have you ever seen a 30 something white man or woman in full dreads? No, I didn't think so!

Rant #3 I get cranky when I see a Subaru with not one, not two but five Obama/Biden bumper stickers! and the "Have you hugged your Mother Earth today?" and " My other car is a bike" ( then go ride it, your in my way!) and the " I recycle sticker" and the Rainbow sticker and the " Hugs not drugs" sticker and kicker one was " I support gun control and I vote" All of that was on one car! It's called a bumper sticker, if it can't fit on the bumper then don't put it on the car!

I figured I was maybe just a tad bit too cranky so I pulled into the McDonald's drive through and had a Quarter Pounder/Cheese and a small orange soda! I felt much better afterwards! Then I came home and took a nap.

  1. It was one of those days huh? I get those too. Personally I hate all bumper stickers and shopping at wal-mart can be frustrating! Hope you sleep good tonight.

  2. I had a day like that too. Plus someone at my house is a wee bit cranky because he has been trying all day to get my car started. We've even tried jumping it off the truck and still, no go. It may have to sit in the driveway until we get above 20 degrees.

  3. ps Maybe you would have felt better had you rammed the little car? I know I would have. Until the insurance people got involved and I would have to explain my actions. Then I wouldn't have felt better.

  4. I always remember you being so cute when you are "cranky" (some of us just get plain b*%#&^)
    Sleep - what's that??!!
    1. Think of Dutch Harbor in the days that was lucky to find any decent produce
    2. Can send Taylor's horse clippers up if you need to take care of some snarly hair - just think of the ticks they probably have - would put Abby to shame - and be glad it's Abby, not them sleeping with you.
    3. Spray Paint!!!!!!

  6. I just love to read everyone's comments. Everyone has something that makes then grit their teeth. When I have a cranky day, I just go to bed and sleep it off. Sleep does wonders! Just make sure you stay away from caffine.

  7. I can immeadiately feel my blood pressure raise a bit whenever I get behind a subaru. Please o please don't take offense if any subaru lovers or owners happen to read this....but 99.99% of the time they drive in the passing lane slow or they're just plain ole slow period. Maybe trying to conserve gas to help mother earth. I dunno.

Patty, your comment reminded me of the movie "Fried Green Tomato's".

  10. Aww. I drive a Subaru. But I don't drive slow in the fast lane (I tend to speed more than going under the limit) and I also don't have any bumper stickers on my car, either! My dad has instilled a deep dislike of bumper stickers in me.

    :)

I am amazed at how hard it can be to find fresh basil. It seems like the stores around me are always sold out, too.

  11. I am a transplanted Alaskan too, of sorts.

We recently had a decent amount of snow here in Oregon and I got cranky at the drivers. Idiots!

While I grew up here in the lower 48, it's been difficult to re-adapt to the culture here again. There are days I long for Alaska and friendlier people!
