It is wrong to be happy to see books by an author that you don't like get pulled and put out in the hallway to be sold for .25 cents?
I work in a small library and books that don't get checked out are called shelf sitters and they just take up space. We need to get rid of them to make room for new books. So the other day my boss went through the shelves and pulled about 200 books? And this was where I got happy at.
She pulled a lot of James Patterson! I know, a lot of people like him but he has about 1000 books out and we just can't hold them all. Also got rid of the whole "Clan of the Cave Bear" series. That was about 2 feet of space! Her books were very thick. I liked the first two but I think that all the other ones............. Oh I can't say that! My Mom would shake her head and say "Krissy Krissy" in that not happy voice! And I'm all about keeping my Mom happy!
Right now I'm reading " The bodies left behind" By Jeffery Deaver. So far I'm enjoying it. I like his books and his style of writing.
Well It's almost 10pm and I need to finish dinner and get to bed. I don't like eating this late, but I worked till 8pm so dinner was at 9pm.
P.S. It's a yummy dinner. I will tell you about it tomorrow

I will feel sad when/if my book ends up on the fifty cent shelf. Please don't be mean.

ReplyDeleteHmmm... You could pull any of Teresa Johnston's romance novels while you're at it! She's a rude, primadonna, B****!!! I used to work at a Barnes and Noble, and as policy, we had to verify ID for anyone who wrote a check. Ms. Johnston had a tirade when I asked to see her ID. "Don't YOU know who I am? Why do you need to see MY ID? You have MY books on your shelves!" And it got worse from there. Needless to say, once my mother heard what happened, she and her book group boycotted Ms. Johnston's books.
