Small problem.

Do you ever have this problem?

I have 3 books going right now.

Book 1. Girl Made of Dust. by Nathalie Abi-Ezzi
It's a good book. About a young girl who lives in Lebanon while Palestine and Israel are at war and how the family works though problems that are caused by living in a war zone. I'm 2/3 the way done.

Book 2. The Cleaner. by Brett Battles.
I'm 1/2 way done and I have not picked it up for the past 3 days or so. It seems like it should be a good book but I feel like I'm being punished. It's just not grabbing me. The main guy is a "cleaner" he goes to crime scenes and cleans them up. Remove bodies and the blood stains, picks up bullets and casings, wipes the finger prints off everything. He works for an unknown company. It's super squirrel secret!

Book 3. The last Child. by John Hart.
I have read 4 chapters so far and it's grabbing me. It's about a 13 year old boy and his twin sister has been missing for a year. His Mom and Dad have split up and his Mom is going down hill fast.
That's all I have so far.

I feel that I have to finish "The Cleaner" as I have already read 1/2 of it. Seems a shame to stop now. But I will put that off till I have read the other 2. I have about 6 books in the hopper ready for me to read.

So many books, so little time!

  1. Forget The Cleaner. If it doesn't grab you right away, dump it. Why waste your time?

  2. I've tried juggling more than one book at a time, but it's difficult, at least for me. I have to focus on one book at a time. I agree with Janice. I would drop The Cleaner too if it does nothing for you.

  3. For the last couple weeks I've been trying to read two books at the same time, and boy that is hard. Both are good, but how do I choose which one to pick up first. I always feel guilty that the "other" book isn't getting equal time. It's kinda like a mind game.

I will just have to learn NOT to read several books at one time. Yeah right, I've been doing that for 9 years now and I just keep on doing it year after year.

  4. I do this but only with books I've already read once. That first book sounds like a good book but heavy and the second doesnt sound so good at all....so I'd read the third! lol It appears we've come to a concensus!

How 'bout... what ever floats your boat!

I just finished "A Summer Afair" by Elin Hilderbrand and didnt like it at all. Maybe the whole desperate housewife thing was lost on me... either way as a national bestseller I expected more!

  5. Nope, not a problem for me. I just read one book at a time. However, I occasionally have more than one art project going and then it's hard to choose. Sometimes it's hard if I'm reading the same book sweetie is reading because he is a slower reader and he takes forever!

  6. I can't do that, read more than one at a time.

I've read a lot this last month! But I read a whole series....Janet Evanovich's books with Stephanie Plum as the bounty hunter....pretty funny.

I'd have a hard time not reading all day if I worked in a library like you do Krissy!

  7. I usually have several books going at once but right now I'm having a hard time getting through the one I'm reading. It's good, but I feel like I should be hurrying through it so I can get to the others.
