I'm in love!

I know! You though that I was going to go on and on about some hunky guy! But noop! I'm in love with the Dewey Decimal System.
At my old job, my job was to control chaos!
When I would go to work at the old job, the 1st thing I would do would be to check with the mechanics and make sure all the planes were up and able to fly, then I would check all the weather for all the places that we flew too.

Here at the library, Bad weather? Broke airplanes? Not my problem. There is no chaos here. In fact, there's a book that has all the Dewey Decimal System categorized. There's logic to why and where all the books go and I love it. I don't have to worry about anything!

This in one of the stacks that we have. I like to shelve the books and also find books for patrons.
Sometimes when I'm shelving, I will look at the books and before I know it, 10 minutes have gone by as I get caught up in the reading of them.
It's also quite in the library ( Shhhhh ) No ground to ground radios and no air to ground radios. Also the phone isn't ringing off the hook.
Working at the library is like working in heaven! (maybe?)
A little haiku for you.
Pages, book glue smell.
Need to renew? Creaky floors.
I miss airplane noise.

  1. I don't understand Haiku, but I'm glad you write it Krissy. Love the view of the "stacks" - great pic. Don't you just love all the woodgrain in our library?

  4. My very first job was as page at the public library. It was the best job EVER. If not for the fact that it paid about six bucks an hour, I would totally still do it.
