Restaurant Review.

I needed to go in to the big town and get some soap stuff. While I was in town I went and checked out a new restaurant that I have heard talk about. It's a Chinese Buffet but also has "all you can eat sushi bar". On a scale of one to ten I would give it a five. I would give it a ten for being clean! The reason for the five would be that the sushi was just OK. Yes it was cheap, yes you could have all you could eat but that didn't make up for the lack of freshness. I ordered a inside out salmon roll. It fell apart. I also had octopus, yellow tail, surf clam, and tuna. They weren't bad but the plate presentation was lacking.

No wasabi?! No pickled ginger?! I think that the sushi chef was not very experienced. The selection of rolls was small, that might be because it was lunch and not dinner. I saw the dinner menu had more roll selection. I will go back to the Shanghai Bistro for my sushi fix. I may have to pay more but I know that my tummy will be one happy camper there! I did try some of the Chinese food. What I got was okay. The typical fried sweet and sour pork/chicken. There were mussels and I love them, I tried them even though they had cheese on them. Cheese on a mussel? Not a good combo, just saying. I have to admit that I did down quite a few fried sesame balls filled with sweet bean paste. Over all it was not bad. And I only paid $8.45 and that was with the two large cokes that I had.

  1. No wasabi? That's like a hotdog with no mustard. Or a brat with no kraut. Or pizza with no cheese. Or tots without ketchup.....geez.

  2. Oh shoot....that's what I was afraid of. I was just telling my family about that restaurant today, but now I'm thinking, NOT.

I'd rather go where the Sushi is top-notch.

Loved your restaurant review today Krissy....very nice.

  4. I'm not a big sushi fan so I can't testify to good or bad dead fish.
