Went to the movies

I went and saw Alice in Wonderland today. It's showing in 2D and 3D. I went and saw it in 2D.
I wish that I could say that I loved it but that would be a lie. I caught myself nodding off a few times. It's not that it was bad, but I felt that it was lacking something. Maybe it needed some salt? It was bland. There were some funny parts and Johnny Depp can pull off the eye makeup like nobodies business! but when all is said and done, you need more then an eye makeup wearing man to make a movie good. I also wished there were sub titles. The Mad Hatter was hard to understand sometimes. There was a lot of eye poking with swords and needles and maybe a nod to Edward Scissor Hands, when the Mad Hatter makes a dress for Alice as she, once again was shrunk. I did like the Red Queen of Hearts with her royal demand for "Off with their heads!"

I would recommend that you see it during a matinee so that you get the lower price. Then you wont feel bad that you spent that much money. But then again, maybe you will love, love the movie and I was having a off day at the movies. Or maybe the movie it great when you see it in 3D.

  1. I like your honest opinion of Alice in Wonderland. Maybe Jonny Depp wasn't up to his standard performance.

The movie previews creeped me out so I would never spend $ to go see it.

  2. I really want to see it. I think I'll go to the 3D theatre though and get the full experience. I fell asleep during Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr but I don't think it was boring, I was just tired.

  4. I loved 90% of the movie, but was upset with the ending. It was more preposterous than Wunderland itself! I haven't read the books and only know the Disney animated version of the story. Over all, it was good. Can't wait until it comes out on dvd to see the 30+ minutes of cut scenes (which had to happen to give it it's PG rating).
