When my sister Alicia came to visit she brought some moose meat that my folks had. One of the chunks of meat was a roast. So carrots, onions and potatoes and
Mom said that the moose was on the "chewy" side (Tough) I put it in the crock pot
while I was at work and the meat was "fall apart tender" when I got home. Cause I browned it
first, it made a really good gravy. (Yes, I took all that brown goodness in the pan and put that in the crock pot) I had moose for dinner, moose for breakfast and I will have it for lunch today.
I'll bet it was yummy! It's been a couple of years since we have had moose, but we sure do love it!
ReplyDeleteGood pics and ohh it looks so good!! Have been ejoying the elk my niece & her husband have been giving us (even the 2 yr old stuff is good with the way her in-laws process/pack it!!)

I would not know what moose taste like. Is it tangy? Or, just like beef?
ReplyDeleteI have been so hungry for pot roast I may just make one this week-end. I don't have moose so beef will need to suffice. I will get some beef that hasn't been filled with hormones.
ReplyDeleteAt last you got your moose meat. I don't think I've ever eaten moose.
ReplyDeleteYUM!
ReplyDeleteWe had Bouef Bourguignon made with Oregon Pinot Noir tonight. I made it in the crockpot too! YUM!
I wonder how moose would taste slow cooked with wine?
