They were having their Pumpkin Festival. Basically it was a craft fair, which I have been going to as I hear about them. I like to check out what local craft folk are up to. This craft fair was OK, not a very big one. It was being held in the community center where the local library is at. And me being me, I checked out the library first! The librarian was very nice and we chatted for about 15 minutes or so. They are not on any computer system so they still use the card catalog system! Can you image? They have a file box and each and every book has a card that gets put into the box under the patron's name. While I was there I pulled out some books to see when they were last checked out. Some have not been read in over 10 years! That's why I'm wondering if I'm weird. I felt sorry for the books! Books come to life when we read them and the characters are "dead" until we pick them up and do so! So get out there and read! You can save a life!

ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for stuffed animals when they're just thrown into a toy box. I gotta put them nice and comfy. I feel sorry for silverware too when they're soaking in cold water. Well...not any more (feel sorry)but I did when I was a kid.

ReplyDeleteDid you ever watch "Stranger than Fiction?" I love that movie about characters that are alive. So when you read a book and the character dies, does that mean you caused their death?
