I got this plant about 3 years ago? It was at Wal-Mart in the plant section up in AK. I bought it cause I felt so sorry for it. It was all scraggly looking and didn't look like much. It only had, I think, maybe 3 stems? And it was cheep. This is what it looks like now. It started putting out these flowers about a week ago and I counted and I have about 10 more blossoms that look like that green one in upper picture. My question to you all, What kind of plant is it? I have no ideal and I don't have a house plant book. The flowers have no scent which I think is a bummer. I think that a pretty flower should have a pretty scent.
I made a dish for Church tomorrow. I'm worried, but it does have 1lbs of Velveeta cheese so I think that it will do good. I will let you know how it goes. No, it's not mac and cheese!
those flowers are very pretty and looks like they all hang from the ends of the stems? I want you to move it up higher, like in a hanging basket so flowers are up where you can see them better. I have no clue what kind they are, you know me, I don't love plants...I tend to kill them.

ReplyDeleteLook up Hoya bella on Google...It sounds like your plant..suppose to smell good. If Hoya carnosa,winding stems reach 8ft.How about that!

Ding Ding Ding! And we have a winner. My MOM! It is 100% Hoya Bella. I will have to resmell it to see if it does have a scent. One note, kind of sad that it takes a plant to get my Mom out of lurking! Oh, and what did my my Mom win? A whole bunch of nothing, other then that she was right and that I love her lots.

ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful plant and the flowers look so dainty. I have a Wandering Jew at home, and although the leaves are a pretty green and purple, it doesn't look anything like yours and doesn't have flowers.
