Well, I ran out of soap yesterday. I had the little itty bitty sliver left and I rubbed the wash cloth over it and there was not enough to make suds so I used shampoo. Being that I have made 10 batches of soap I just could not go buy soap. That's just crazy talk! My very 1st batch that I made has been curing 5 weeks. They say cure 4 to 6 weeks so I figured 5 weeks is good enough for me. It is a large bar, kind of hard to hold in my hand so I'm glad that I have cut all the other batches smaller. I got the bar and wash cloth wet and low and behold, I had suds! They are a fine sud, not big fluffy bubbles. I scrubbed-a-dub-dub and when I rinsed it all came off and I didn't feel any residue left on me. All this soap talk reminds me of a song.
Oh, I wish I was a little bar of soap, bar of soap
Oh, I wish I was a little bar of soap, bar of soap
I go slippy slippy slide-ie over everybody hide-ie
Oh, I wish I was a little bar of soap, bar of soap.
There is also a verse about wishing to be a tangerine and wanting to be a can of coke. I will have to save those for another day. Don't want to overwhelm anybody!
Goat update. They are both doing well. JuJu is a real sweetie. She likes to be petted and when ever she sees me outside she calls and calls to me. I sit in the pen with them and she will lean on me. I was scratching her ears and I swear her eyes rolled back. When I stopped, she bumped her head on my hand trying to tell me to get back to work on the scratching.

That would have been weird for you to have to go buy soap when your house if full of it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I know that song. You'll have to sing it for me.
So goats are kind of sweet like dogs. They want to be petted and have someone pay attention to them. Are they sleeping in the garage at night or do they sleep outside? Have you bought new food for them yet?
ReplyDeleteAre they soon gonna boot Abby out of bed and snuggle with you instead? You could officialy be the crazy goat lady then!
ReplyDeleteAmen Alicia!
ReplyDeleteGlad your soap story has a happy ending and you did not have to go buy that commercial stuff. Looking forward to testing some out for you.
Blessings to you, Abby and the goats.
Sounds like life is good for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI went to my friend's home, the one who took in my 3 goats last year. She is so loving them. I got to meet the new babies and they are so adorable. I got a small twinge of missing them, then I snapped out of it. I enjoy visiting. When goats are handled with love and care, they can be so sweet and loving. They crave attention just like dogs. Keep enjoying your girls.
