Last night we had a nice lighting storm. There was a few big CRACKS of thunder but most of the thunder was a low constant rumble ( Like being next to a train track ) but the lighting was just flashing all over. For about an hour it was like a strobe light was going off in the house. I got up to close the windows as it was pouring rain. I started to think that this could be kind of scary if there was a axe murder in the house and I would only see him in the lighting flash! So I went back to bed so I couldn't see him. ( I can't see him then he can't see me ) Last night would have so freaked out my sisters if they were here by themselves. They are kind of wimpy.
I had a good day at work. My boss told me that I could not sing Christmas songs at work ( big meanie!) I didn't know I was doing that. I caught myself on the way home singing them still. Why? I have no ideal! ( Just so you know, I have yet to have a bad day at work )
A patron called up needing help. She needed to translate Noble Prince from English to Russian. Did you know that you can't do that? I mean you can, but the Russian alphabet is not Latin like we use, it's called Cyrillic and the letters don't look like ours. ( It would be like translating from English to Chinese, unless you know how to pronounce their symbols it's not going to work ) I googled and looked up Russian dictionaries and could not help her. But in talking to her I found out that she is a local Doberman breeder here in Wisconsin. I know where she lives as I have been past her house a time or two and have seen a yard full of dobermans. I told her that. She said to stop next time and she would show me around her place.
For dinner tonight I had a zucchini that I had just picked from the garden when I got home from work. I pan fried it with some olive oil and lots of garlic. So a heads up for those that work with me. Sorry and I will chew some gum!
That's all for now. Good Night and Merry Christmas!

Aunt Krissy, I said you weren't allowed to sing Christmas songs until December ok? I still want to enjoy the rest of my summer. In December I will sing along with you...how's that?
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good day at work, despite not getting a real supper break....sorry.
Ha! The cooler weather is tricking you into thinking it's later in the year than it is! (or something)
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you feel any better, one year I played Christmas CDs on Easter Sunday. Sort of fitting, as to the reason of the holidays, but I was still off my rocker. :P
We had zucchini tonight, too, though ours was not fresh from the garden. :(
If she was willing to retype it she could have entered the wording into that language thingy you have on your site and translated it. Of course, that would be a lot of typing.
ReplyDeleteLOL- Christmas songs? What's up with that? LOL I need to go get some Zucchini now...that sounds awesome!
ReplyDeleteOccasionally for no conceivable reason I'll be humming or singing a christmas song too. Strange. Are we wanting xmas to come? I know, we are wanting to buy ourselves a treat and are unconsiously rationalizing it as a xmas present or something?
ReplyDeleteI've done ESL teaching (English as a Second Language) and was introduced to a grate website http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ You are able to translate to and from nearly any language (Chinese and Russian included). I've used this with my Chinese and Ukraine students. Granted, it's not perfect, but it works very well.
