See that gunk in the hose? That is Asian beetle juice. I noticed that I had a bunch of them hanging out in the curtains in the living room. So I got the vacuum out and sucked up 100 or so. I know! 100 you say? Yep, probably more. I would come across clusters of them. I think that I will have to get a new filter now as I'm sure that its plugged up with the same gunk. I think that the reason that I had so many is that it's real windy today and maybe that got pushed up to that window? With the sun out that side of the house gets nice and warm. For real, I can't wait till we have a good freeze. That will take care of the Asian bug problem.

The Asian beetles really start to move and find a warm place to winter over when the soybean plants die or are harvested. I suppose since you live near farm fields, you get hit hard by the pesty beetles.
ReplyDeleteThat is really, really gross. I think you need to take that hose off and flush some water through it. I bet your kitties like catching the beetles?
ReplyDeleteSince you have the buggers, I'm surprised we don't yet. Course I say that and we'll be totally invaded now.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen too many yet. I'm hoping it stays that way.
ReplyDeleteLast year we had a few, and this year we haven't seen any. Thankfully!
ReplyDeleteOne year a friend of mine who lives out by my parents found a huge swarm of them (maybe swarm isn't the right word, but there were a LOT). The air conditioner was a wall unit, and their couch was under the A/C. They moved the couch and the wall looked like it was moving there were so many.
And now I've given myself the heebie-jeebies right before bed.
