On Saturday September 8th I did my very first 5K run (3.1 miles) I did it in 33min and 20 sec. I think. I have not gotten the official times yet. That time was from a picture of me running past the big timer clock thing.
I did have some pics that I thought that I had put on this morning, but now when I went to do the writing part of the blog, no pictures. I will try and post them again. It took about 40min to get 3 of them on this post this morning.
I have been running and working out this summer to get ready for the race. I was not worried about being able to do 3 miles, just wanted to have a good clock time. And I did, for me, so far I have been taking 35 min to do 3 miles so I did it better by two min.
It's hard to believe that two years ago I had a hard time walking to the mailbox, I mean I could do it but my knees hurt, and I didn't really like doing it. ( I have a long driveway), but I made myself and then I got up to walking farther and farther. As I lost weight it got a little easier and easier.
Now? 100lbs gone I can run 3 miles and I'm thinking about upping my time and distance and try for a 10K!
When I get a chance I will post a pic from a long time ago, my race pics and of me all cleaned up. I still want to lose another 30lbs and I'm finding these one really hard to get rid of! Not that the 100lbs was easy, it wasn't, but I'm finding these ones stubborn! I think it's cause they have been with me for so long that they have squatters rights!
That's it for now
