This is going to be a potpourri post. A little bit of everything.
I have not caught the mouse yet, I have the traps set with the finest of cheep peanut butter but no luck, I will keep them out for a bit.
I have been busy pickling stuff. Last night I made 3 pints of pickled beets.
Today I made 1 and 1/2 pints of sweet pickles and 2 pints of jalapeno pickles and 4 quarts of dill pickles. The house smelled wonderful, the fresh dill and fresh garlic are a awesome scent. I got the garlic at the farmers market, it sticky, not dried out like that stuff you get at the store, my fingers still smell like garlic. I'm sure that when my Mom and Dad come down here Dad will make a comment about that I shouldn't have put garlic in the pickles, but then a few years ago I made the same kind of pickles and he and Mom ate quite a few quarts of pickles!
It's been overcast here in Wisconsin for the past 3 days and we had some rain, so I didn't water my garden, when I went to check it this afternoon the plants looked a little wilted, so I turned the hose on them and I caught my dear precious Abby in the garden this afternoon! Bad Dog! as if she cared! Nothing in there for her!
I also went to the library today, didn't get any books as I still have 5 books here at the house to read, just went to visit my book pusher friend Kellie and she was my hook up for the fresh dill. Also I didn't know that I had a goof on my blog regarding comments, so I fixed that, it should be easier to make one if you want.
Oh and do you think that just maybe I add to much lighter fluid?

whoo hooo! I'm first. I can't believe it. Oh, wait - that's a different blog. ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteYeah - maybe a wee bit too much lighter fluid. But it don't taste like cooked outdoors unless it tastes like lighter fluid and charcoal.
Hello Krissy
ReplyDeleteLove your Pot Luck blog.. Nothing like a little fire to get your heart rate up!! It's good for you!
Hi Kris,
ReplyDeleteLong time eh? Love your blog - I had to write some stuff on your sis's blog so figured i should give you equal time too! LOL
Next time get the 'easy light' charcoal so you don't have to use lighter fluid - the side of your house will love you for it! :)
That pic of you all on the sailboat cracked me up. You all look like the swiss family robinson!
