Projects!

Today I went into the big town of Eau Claire to go to the farmers market. I walked around to check it all out. There was about 25 vendors, pretty much selling the same stuff but only 1 vendor selling jalapenos, so I snapped them up fast! Due to the salmonella scare you cant get them in the store and all that for 4 bucks? fresh picked and organic? I don't think that, that price can be beat! I plan on pickling them ( yummy!) I planted beets in my garden but they are not doing well and when I saw these ones, I knew that mine are a shameful representation of beets! the leafs on my beets are only, at the most, an inch to 2 inches high! I plan on making pickled beets out of them. And I make a mean pickled beet! The cucumbers are also going to be pickled, I will separate the real tiny one out and make sweet pickles and the others will be a dill pickle. I have to confess, I like/love any food pickled...I think.. I have never had pickled pigs feet, they look gross!
Back in 1995, my good friend Rose in Alaska, gave to me a book "Company's Coming" by Jean Pare, its all about how to can/pickle and stuff like that, its been one of my favorite cooking books. So now I have my day planed out for me tomorrow!
