Soy crops

First off, I know nada about crops and farming! So I'm just taking a guess about this. All the pic's in this post where taken today Friday Sept 26 at 6.30ish pm. ( and its 77 above! ) When I first moved down here, the soy bean crops all looked liked this one. And this one looked like it does right now back in the spring, but in July ( sometime ) something happened to it and it looked like this one ( In fact they are across the street from each other ) and in July I saw farmer Brown ( I call all farmer's Farmer Brown ) spraying his fields. I think that he had a bug or some kind of disease come through his crops? And then in August I saw him one day turn up this field. I saw him doing this at night, as one night I came home at 11pm and he had a bunch of lights on his big old tractor tearing it up! And about 2 weeks ago it started to turn green and now he has this growing in his field. It looks like it was planted on purpose, not volunteers but why would he be planting so late? I mean,we have had and are going to start having more and more cold temps in the morning?! This must be why hes the farmer and I'm not. Now this last pic is what most of the soy bean crops look like. I was told today by my boss that when they ( the farmers ) harvest the soy bean, that's when its going to be yucky with the Asian bugs! Oh I can hardly wait!

  1. I think some farmers plant winter crops...maybe that's what they are doing. You should immerse yourself a little and learn about the crop seasons down there. Probably if you hung out at a coffee shop or the local feed store you'd know all about it. Maybe you need to join a "geezer" group like dads.
