noise's at night

Aa few nights ago while I was sound asleep, I was a jolted out of a sound sleep by a really eerie howl, it was the kind of howl that made me think of the movie " Werewolves of London! " when the 2 guys, late at night, are crossing the moors trying to get to shelter. It made my heart pound! I asked around and was told that it was coyotes on the scent of some kind of fuzzy little creature ( think, little bunny rabbit! ) and then this morning, while I was getting ready for work I looked out my front living room window and what did I see? but a coyote cruising down my yard. I know the pictures aren't the best but that's all I got of it. That night when the coyotes were howling , my killer attack doberman stayed sound asleep! didn't even budge, lift her head or cock an ear! What a sorry excuse for a doberman! In fact, one time up at my cabin that I used to own in Alaska, I had a bear come right up on the porch and get into the cooler and steal the eggs and bacon and stuff, I had 3 dogs with me that time ( It was a 3 dog night that night!) and not one of them barked or anything, well, one dog did make a very very small woof . The dogs didn't bark at the bear until I did the old "fake a knock" on the door trick! Stupid dogs!

  1. Oh I just had a real belly laugh....lol! I guess your dogs tend to be, hummmm, softies? Your dog stories crack me up. I still think Annabelle and Abby could be playmates, don't ya think?

  2. I love to see wildlife. I traveled in Alaska many years ago, we saw tons of moose with their calves. No bear though. I think one on the porch would be way too close for comfort. Still, I would have liked to see one in the distance. Thanks for your comments on my blog.

  3. Reminds me of one night when I was a kid in Cold Bay and my dog started barking like crazy. I looked out my bedroom window (the window was at head height) and there was a bear laying right there!!! Of course I ran hollering upstairs for rescue!! Have not seen any coyotes at our house, but we sure hear them howling a lot..
