What a beautiful day today! It got up to 78 in Eau Claire and at my house I got as high at 72! Can you, in Alaska, wrap your little frozen minds around that? I did a little recon drive today to make sure I know where to go to go vote. I found it. I will be there bright and early to vote.

This picture is my back yard flower garden. After I pulled all the weeds. Its right next to the back porch. I didn't have any flowers in it. I wasn't sure what was going to come up this summer, so I just let it go and do its own thing. I ended up with some kind of bramble. It never flowered, didn't put out any fruit. It just grew and grew till is was a wild mess. It did harbor a lot of spiders!

The problem with this spot is that I couldn't pull the up the bramble roots. I ended up using my loppers and just cutting them close to the ground. I'm wondering then if next year they will come back? I probably need to go in with a shovel and did up the roots, but that sounds like work! I would like to plant some tall flowers. Maybe when my Mom and Dad come up here to visit. Mom can tell me what too do. She's a expert gardener.
