Weekend project.

I'm dreading this project. I have needed a wheel barrow for sometime. Last year I used my kid wading pool as one. That didn't work out so well. For one thing, you couldn't put that much in it before it was hard to drag. Every time it rained I would have to bail it out so that I could use it.

I bought this the other day when I got the lumber. Why oh why can't they put it together? I'm afraid to open the box and see all the zillion little bits and piece that I have to put together. I don't do well with this kind of stuff. Little washers and screws can put me over the edge like nobodies business.

Where is my geeky nephew when I need him?

P.S. I just might take up drinking when I'm done with this!

P.P.S. I just freaked out! I had a tick walking on me. Not sucking, just walking, but still. Shudder!

  1. Tick...ick, blame it on Abby girl! I haven't seen any ticks around my house yet.

  2. I've got to get the tick med. on Ginger, Ko found one on her this morning.

Maybe putting it together won't be as bad as it looks. I'm sure it will work much better than the pool. I had to laugh, I could just see you draggin that thing around.

  3. geeky nephew? I presume you speak of my intelligent son? Just because he's smart don't make him geeky. I'm sure you can put that thing together. Just stick the handles on, the wheel on and bob's your uncle. All done.

  4. Plastic wheel barrows, or is it barrels, are already put together AND they are easier to use than the old fashioned kind, more stable and not easily tipped over by accident.

Come home - we don't have ticks or any of the other kind of icky bugs!

  5. Janice. I'm sorry, I dont see myself moving back to AK anytime soon. Maybe in 10 years I will move more south! Nice to have short and mild winters. I checked, it's barrow.

  6. A wheelbarrow is one of the most handy tools I own. We got one for our wedding some 14 years ago and we still say it's the best gift we received.

It'll be easy to assemble. Remember: "washer, lock washer, nut" in that order.

  8. Oh, forgot to add that I had a tick crawling along the brim of my hat last week.....not cool.

Found one on the cat and one on Jin's tail. Tis the season.

  9. I've still never seen a tick in my life.

Now, Aunt Krissy! It can't be that taxing to put a wheelbarrow together! You're Alaskan so I know you're capable. Just reward yourself with something yummy when you're done and maybe it'll seem less onerous. And think of the Rosie the Riveter t-shirts that say "Alaskan Girls kick @--!" while you're doing it. Maybe it'll help you feel more empowered.

Putting it together should be easier than building a chicken coop I'd think.

  10. A tick already?! Holy cats! Seems too early.

Glad the wheelbarrow got put together OK (referring to post after this one) - we have one sitting in the garage waiting to be put together. A bright red one!
