This morning I went to my friends house as she had some plants that she wanted to divide. I know I got a bleeding heart and a bunch of iris but I can't remember what the other ones are.
Being that I got them now that means I have to clean out my flower beds.
This house sat empty for a few years before I moved in so that the weeds really got a good foot hold in them. My plan is, after church tomorrow to go out and pull weeds and take grass clippings from last year and mulch the beds and put my plants in.
I know that to have nice flower beds you have to put some time into them. My mom had a beautiful garden and she's out there every day working on it. I think that I will be happy with nice looking flower beds. They don't have to be beautiful.
And this picture has nothing to do with the post but when I saw it I laughed and laughed! That poor hen. She sure is being a good mom, but she does look a little confused..
Growing flowers can be lots of work, but it's worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteI love that picture you posted.
You go girl. I'm not sure I'll ever be a weeder...I think that's Tim's job.
ReplyDeleteHa! Cute picture! Glad to see you got your wheelbarrow together!

Have a wonderful time in your garden! You can also put veggies in the flower beds. Are you going to put in a veggie garden? If so, be sure to "plant a row for the hungry". That is a project started in Anchorage by Jeff Lowenfels and has spread across the nation. The idea is to take your extras to a soup kitchen or rescue mission to help them feed the hungry amoung us.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always,
That poor hen, I think she is confused.
ReplyDeleteI was so glad to share with you!
If I remember right you took home, bleeding heart, iris, coral bells, bishops weed, sedum and purple aster. I hope they grow well for you and you enjoy them.
