Overload.

We got a late start today. Went to the Fleet Farm store and got the goods. I bought 3 rolls of 4ftX100ft woven horse wire fence. But we only ended up getting 2 rolls. They were out. So when we got home and measure out the pen I was not happy. I want a bigger pen. Tomorrow I will go to the other Farm Fleet store and see if that one has some fencing. I think that we will get all the fence up tomorrow.

I got 4 gallons of goat milk yesterday so this morning I strained it, measured it and froze it. Once again some of the bags had little pin size holes in them. I just doubled bagged them. I bought Glad freezer bags. Bugs me that I had holes in them. My sister thinks that I should write them a note and tell them that they have crap for bags. Maybe I would get some free ones.

I got a good phone call today! My palm oil is in. Patty and I will go to the cities on Monday early in the morning and pick that all up. Also I'm going to try and swing by and visit with our Aunt and Grandma while there. I am going to make a batch of soap on Monday ( Fingers crossed ) I need to start making soap as I'm soon going to run out of room to stash the milk in.

Being that I will make soap soon, Patty and I opened up all the essential oils and sniffed them.
Talk about an overload. I also put a few drops of the oil on cotton balls and put them in little baggies. That way we can smell them a little better. Not so strong. We both agree that Patchouli is what hippies use to hide the smell of pot. It's a very 60's smell.
Patty likes the citrus ones. I like the White Spruce and Bergamot best. ( Earl Gray Tea )

  2. So is the "bil" going to build you a bigger goat pen?

  3. I wonder if that bergamot scent is from the Bergamot orange (Citrus bergamia) or from Bee Balm (Monarda didyma), the ornamental perennial. I'd think putting little bits of bee balm leaf in the soap would be cool.

  4. CVPH- It's from the Citrus bergamia

  5. My favorites were White Grapefruit and Blood Orange....although I liked all of them to some extent. What amazes me is my two least favorites are the two Kris likes the best. I guess that's why you need to offer a variety; not everyone likes the same stuff.

  6. Good idea about the ziplock bags & cotton balls. I also favor the more green, herbal or woodsy smells...nothing too sweet like "lilies of the valley."

  7. That seems strange that you got brand new bags with holes in them?

I reuse my bags, so they get the odd hole in them, but never seen that happen with brand new bags. I agree with your sis, you should let the company know....

What a busy time you've had! So nice to have people come to help (I mean visit) perhaps Patty and Tim would like to stop off here on their way home????

The pen and coop look great!!!
