Another use for it.

Yesterday I went to the Cenex gas station for lunch. I know, that may sound odd but this gas station sells everything. I mean that have it all, You can get pig de-wormer, nails and a 2 piece chicken dinner. Which is what I had for lunch.

They are trying a new thing with lunch. You get to choose one of the 8 sides that they have now. Well I choose the cucumber and tomato salad.
It was great! So good that I went back to the food counter and told the lady that helped me that they need to keep that cucumber/tomato salad on the menu. She got a big grin on her face, it was her recipe! I asked her for it and I could not believe how simple it was. I asked her twice on the dressing just to make sure. Yep, I heard her right, it was Miracle Whip!

I usually have a very small jar of it for when I make tuna fish sandwich as I think that Miracle Whip is evil on anything else. Today I bought a cucumber, tomato and a jar of it. I mixed it up and that's what I will have for lunch tomorrow.

I hope it turns out. I may be becoming a turn Wisconsinite as now I might be using Miracle Whip on more things.

  1. Oh my gosh, did I hear you right? You might becoming a Wisconsinite?

I bet you talked to Edith at the Cenex...she is the deli manager. She's also a library patron of ours. Edith knows how to cook and does it well. That salad does sound good.

  3. sacriledge! We all know real mayo is the real thing - Miracle whip don't cut it. In anything. I bet the salad would be twice as delicious made with real mayo.

  5. They really have pig dewormer?

Cucumber salad is one of my favorites.

Thanks again for the pie, my family devoured it, I managed to get one more piece.

  6. you had pig de-wormer, nails and a 2 piece chicken dinner for lunch? just kidding.
it does seem strange to eat lunch at a gas station. I dont like straight Miracle Whip, but all the relatives from Minnesota like it, so I mix it half and half (1/2 miracle whip, 1/2 real mayo). Otherwise to me its toooo tangy & sweet.
cant wait to sample some of the food down there.
