A few days ago I was sitting on the couch all fat dumb and happy. I had the front door open to catch the cross breeze and I had some cotton fluffy stuff go by. I got up as I thought that it came in from the outside. On the way to close the door I looked over at this corner and saw that a few of my cat tails things had busted up. Great! That's the stuff floating around the house. Got out the dog scare (Vacuum ) and went to work.
I had piles of this to vacuum up. The air from the vacuum makes the fluffy stuff fluff around. It was kind of like herding cats, I think, I never have herded cats before so I'm just guessing on that. A few days later I'm still finding bits of fluff. I think that I will be finding it for a long time.
My boss says that trying to get everyone in our department together for a meeting is just like herding cats so I know what you mean!
ReplyDeleteThose are the cattails you picked in a ditch aren't they? Just think, if you don't dust or vacuum very well you might have cattails sprouting in your carpet next spring. That would be hilarious.
ReplyDeleteCattails are nice to have but can cause a big mess. I think there is a spray or something you can get to keep them from fluffing out. Also I think when you pick them makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 cats and there is no way to herd them. Unless they feel they've been starved. That means no food for say an hour, then they will happily follow you to the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteMy mother use to spray cattails w/hairspray and I don't remember there being any flying fluff. Maybe try that. Good luck.
Oh yeah, the hairspray trick! I was trying to remember what we used in school, and I think it was hair spray.
ReplyDeleteWe've got cotton wood fluff blowing around all over here. Bleh. It's clogged the filter to the AC at work and the AC keeps going out because there is no air coming into the intake because of it! We keep cleaning it every few days!
(also - I'm more amused than I should be at the thought of cat tails growing in carpeting) ha!
