Corner of my house.
I love to sit on my couch and look at this wall. I know, wall looking sounds like I might need some mental health help! But this quilt was made for me by one of my closest friends and today was one of those wall looking days. It has rained off and on all day and just seeing it there made me feel all toasty warm. To me this quilt is art, not bedding so it has never been on my bed, which I'm glad as I shudder to think what my dog would have done over the years to it if it was. It has been a book reading day. I just started "World without end" by Ken Follett and its going to be good, if fact I'm bummed that its just over a thousand pages long! I know I am going to want more! This book takes place a few hundred years after " Pillars of the Earth" and if you have read that, then you're going to want to read this.
On a side note, My dog cracks me up! She was out from 5am to about 10am digging up gofers and it was raining, which she doesn't really like but the rain wasn't coming down too hard yet! The sky opened up and it poured! Abby was trying to run to the house but the rain must have been pelting her real good as she was low to the ground and trying to run but also trying to... I don't know what she was trying but it was funny to watch her! Took her a minute to get across the yard! also took two towels to dry her off, she was soaked.

We have a quilt that Tim's grandmother made for us...I'm planning to take a picture of it and post it on my blog eventually. It is a work of art too. We put it on the bed during the winter, but our dogs aren't allowed on bed so it has stayed nice. I've been running errands all day. Finally got a box mailed to Katie. You know, PFD's just came out - bank lines are long, stores are packed and postoffice line was tripled around at the airport. crazy.
ReplyDeleteCry me a river rgd the PFD's
ReplyDeleteall those poor people that cant buy fuel cause it cost to much are buying TV's and junk! does thst sound bitter? maybe just a touch!
what did you mail Katie?
They are supposed to spend the fuel rebate on fuel, not the pfd. But yeah, it's crazy. You do sound just a wee bit bitter - go out and smell those fresh fields and drive by that beautiful church. That will make you feel better. I sent stuff to Katie that they forgot up here; towel, baby socks, jeans jacket, etc. Plus pictures and a book.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt Kris! I'm a quilt person myself...even made a few years ago but I have to be honest and say it's easier to buy one, hee, hee!
ReplyDeleteThe rain on Saturday must have covered all of Northern WI since we got washed out at the bike race which is about 150 north of Colfax! All of us (my family members/friends) were soaked. Hey, check out my pictures on my blog. I would have taken more but it was raining to hard in the afternoon.
ah, what's a PFD? I'm thinkin it involves money possibly? Maybe that's what Kellie was talking about at work one day.
Today is "dry-out" day, you know like tents, sleeping bags etc. I also caught a cold & have a sore throat....I promise not to breath on you when I see you next time.
F.Y.I. I made that quilt for Krissy. Yes, PFD's are AK's oil royalty check to ALL residents. This year was a record, I think they were about 2200 bucks!! Plus they got 1200 for purchasing fuel.
ReplyDeleteWOW... I sure miss that.. Looks like you had fun camping dispite the rain..
