Well, I made the 4 hour road trip to my Aunt and Uncles house without a problem.
I did come through a town that on its water tower it had that it was the " World Capitol of Catfish" Catfish? In Northern MN? Maybe walleye but not catfish.
Up in AK I know what radio stations wont make me cranky. Here in the lower 48 states there are way to many to choses from. I have about 50 CD so I went through them this morning before I left the house and picked some out.
This is my music selection.
LED ZEPPELIN. The 4th Album (it's unnamed)
Bob Marley and the Wailers. Legend.
Best of Jimmy Cliff. You can get it if you really want...
Howlin' Wolf. Moanin' in the Moonlight.
Beatles. Number 1 hits.
Van Morrison. Moondance.
Cold Mountain. Sound track from the movie. Folk Music.
The Guess Who. Greatest hits.
Steve Miller Band. Greatest Hits 1974-78.
Jim Croce.Photographs and Memories.
What kind of music do you listen to on a road trip?
Currently my favorite music is mostly Christian Contemporary....Jeremy Camp, Chris Tomlin, Mercyme etc.
ReplyDeleteAs I'm younger, I tend to have a different selection. On a road trip, I'm most likely to listen to:
ReplyDeleteU2
Martina McBride
Rob Zombie
Shakira
Metallica
toss in some Gary Allen
add a splash of Toby Keith
maybe a dash of Johnny, Willie or Merle
and finish it off with some Nickelback.
Mix well and I'm a happy camper. Or a lead-footed driver.
I never know the names of albums but for me it's some Bob Marley and the Wailers, Simon & Garfunkel and just Paul Simon, Creedance Clearwater Revival, Black Betty Bam a Lam (I don't even know which group does it, I just know I like it!).
ReplyDeleteI like a variety of music, but I have a hard time listening to some of the stations on my way down state, too. I like whatever is popular now and from the 80's and 90's, however, some of the 80's music (which I grew up with) irritate me at times too. I like genres like Linkin Park, Metallica, Pink, Journey, Lifehouse, Jason Mraz, Rhianna, Nickleback, the list goes on and on. Anything with an upbeat tempo or with the right rhythm that makes for great driving music. If I'm driving home from a hectic day at school, then I may aim for Metallica, or something soothing like Jason Mraz.
ReplyDeletehey...is that my Beatles CD? Can't seem to find mine and I'm thinking we had it on road trip from AK to Wisconsin...a year ago this month! Can you believe that's it's already been a full year since you bugged outta here?!
ReplyDeleteIf it's a long trip and I'm travelling alone with no big horse trailer following me, I like to listen to stuff that is complex. Early Yes, Rush, Supertramp, Genesis (Gabriel days), Styx, Triumph.
ReplyDeleteOr anything folk/acadian/cajun. Frigg, LaBottine Souriante, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.
We like to listen to audio books on long trips. It really makes the time roll faster.
