Goat girl

Well, it is set up for me to go the goat place and learn to milk a goat and also get some goat milk.
I'm getting closer and closer to making soap.

My essential oils came in the other day. When I got home from work and walked into the house I could smell the lavender. I opened that box just to make sure that nothing was broken and all was good. Just that bag of dried lavender flowers are pretty strong smelling. My Dad is going to hate hate being in my house when I am making soap. He hates nice smells. He thinks that it's stinky. He is the type that hates to walk down the soap aisle in stores, likes the un-scented soaps and stuff. Oh well. My house, I can do what I want, right? Great, I can see it now, I will have to have all my scents outside when he's here. You don't know my Dad. Somehow he always wins.

On Wednesday I'm going to the twin cities to pick up my coconut, palm and olive oils. Also sometime this week I will go to Wausau to get my 200lbs of lye! I don't want that much lye but that is the smallest amount that they sell. I'm just glad I found a place. Wausau is about 3 hour drive round trip for me. Can you say road trip?! The person that I'm going to tomorrow to milk goats will buy 100lbs of lye from me. She wants to make soap also.

The person that I was going to get my chickens from? She has not called me back. I have left her 2 messages now. Do I call the 3rd time? Or is that being stalker-ish like? I need to know if she is going to be my chicken hook up, if not, I need to make a new plan for chickens.

I was telling a patron about getting goats and said that I will get a nick name as that crazy goat lady, he said " better a crazy goat lady then a crazy cat lady" I didn't tell him that I was also getting some barn cats soon. He might think that I'm crazy!

  1. I'd call the chicken lady again. Are you getting chicks or full grown hens?
I bet it will feel really good when you actually make your first batch of soap.
