I'm getting excited! Only 12 more shopping days till my sister and bil are here. Not that I plan to shop for them. But I do need to go to the lumber store and buy lumber and stuff. I'm not sure if I should buy all the stuff before they get here or wait till they (he) gets here.
My honey do for Tim is the following.
1. Cut down trees. There's about 5 of them. But to do that I need to get a new chain for my saw.
I will get that before he comes. I know what size I need.
2. Dig a trench. I will rent a trencher. This is so that I can get power to my garage. I have to dig it 2 feet deep and 100 feet long. Then later on, an electrician will come by and do the hook up for me. He's a friend of my friends. He's going to give me a list off all the stuff that I need for him to
do the job. The more I pre do the cheaper it will be for me.
3. Put up fencing. That means also put in post. I might wait till he gets here before I buy that stuff. Or talk to him and have it all waiting and ready to go. I plan on using the metal post that need to be pounded in and then hook up wire fence to that. I have nice sandy soil. That will be a change from the gravel soil that I had at the cabin. I (we, OK really he did ) dug 9 holes 4 ft deep to put in rail road ties for the foundation on my cabin. I dug the first 2 feet and Tim when do the rest. It was hard packed gravel and big honking huge rocks. ( Story about a rock to come some day)
4. Build me a milk stand for my goats.
5. Make doors in a metal wall. ( I better buy a few more blades for my skill saw )
6. Fix a wooden door. Or replace it.
7. Take them out for dinner. Olive Garden or Red Lobster? AK does not have either one.
That reminds me. I need to talk to my friend Kellie's husband and see if I can borrow a generator so Tim has power at the garage when he uses the skill saw. Kellie?
I think that's about it for now. You know what? Most of the time I am happy with being single but having a husband sometimes sure would be handy. I'm glad that my sister will lone hers out to me!

It's nice to have family! Your honey do list doesn't look to long.
ReplyDeleteWhat's mine is yours....mostly. Tim loves to cut down trees so that's an enjoyable task for him. Digging holes, not so much. But, sounds like it will be easy to pound in metal stakes. You'll have to talk to him about if you should go ahead and buy or wait for him. If we get the fence in, are you going to get the goats while we're there? and the little chickies?
ReplyDeleteYep, As soon as I have fence I will have goats. I called the chicken lady and left a mesg but she has not called me back. I will call her tmr.
ReplyDeleteTed wants to know if you would like to borrow his 100 ft heavy duty extension cord instead of borrowing the generator?
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a big "honey do" list!
That's quite the list...what a nice relaxing visit your BIL will have, lol!!!
ReplyDeleteHelpful family members are always a blessing! You have a Red Lobster there? How we wish we had one...the closest is in Calgary.
Gman and I have been known to CHANGE travel plans in order to get a RL meal when we travel...seriously!
