I was a spy today. The library that I work for is doing a joint secret shopper type thing with some other libraries. Being that I was going to the twin Cities today to pick up more olive oil and also visit with my Grandma and Aunt my boss asked me if I would be interested. You bet! I said.
On my way to the cities I stopped in a town called Baldwin and went in and checked them out. I asked some questions and those questions led to other questions. My goal was to see if they were helpful and kind. Which I would have to say that they were. They get a big A plus! I did feel a little guilty as I felt that I was lying by pretending that I didn't know how to work the library computers and stuff. But that was my job to do.
When I got to the cities I did some gallivanting with my Aunt as she needed to run errands.
We went to her local library. It was a very nice one. From there we went to a store called
Delmonico's (?) It is a little Italian speciality store. It's been there for 80 years. My Aunt was telling me that back when, it was where you would go to place bets with the bookie and the store was just a front so that it looked legit. As time went by bookie part went away and they became more of a store.
I got some Pesto ravioli's and marinara sauce and (it looks like) some nice rustic bread. They make all that stuff there. That's what I'm having for dinner tonight.
After that we went to a bakery. Got a cheese tart. Yummy. I like hanging out with my Aunt. She wants me to come over some Saturday and do some running around going to little shops and stuff. I told her to sign me up. I would be on that like white on rice.
I hope that you all are having a fun filled day.

Wow I didn't know you were gonna get to play spy. I'm glad Baldwin passed the test.
ReplyDeleteYour Italian stuff sounds yummy!
What a fun addition to your resume; Library Spy!
ReplyDeleteWhy did you need to go to MPLS for olive oil? Other than getting to visit family of course??
That sounds like the 'secret shoppers' at Carr's. That means that people come into your library and test you on your knowledgability and helpfullness too.....kind of a scary thought, eh?
ReplyDeleteThat does sound fun to hang out with A. Donna.
